
The PHLEX Process: From Concept to Completion
Customer Engagement
- •Customer reaches out to Phlex for assistance
- •Determine whether the customer is bringing their own formula or requires Phlex to custom-create one
- •Gather information about the target demographic to assist in the formulation process
Formulation Development
- •Develop an initial formulation based on basic ingredients
- •Propose pricing to the customer based on the initial formulation
Sample Creation & Testing
- •Create samples in the flavor lab once pricing is agreed upon
- •Provide samples to the customer, either by sending them or inviting the customer to Phlex for a tasting
- •Receive approval from the customer on the water-based flavor test
Order Confirmation
- •Customer issues a Purchase Order (PO)
- •Determine delivery date expectations, concluding the initial sales process
Initial Preparation
- •Upon receiving the PO, create a Master Manufacturing Record (MMR) detailing the entire job
- •Generate a raw materials needs list
- •Decide on the appropriate machine or production line for packaging
- •Add the job to the production schedule
Production Process
- •Receive and quarantine raw materials
- •Conduct testing on raw materials either in-house or through a third-party lab
- •Begin the blending process once test results are received
- •Conduct a blend test before proceeding to final packaging
Packaging
- •Package the product, either automatically or semi-automatically, depending on the product and volume
- •Perform finished product testing to ensure quality
Shipping & Clean-Up
- •Prepare the fully packaged product for shipping
- •Ship the product to the customer
- •Thoroughly clean and sanitize all equipment used in the production process
